• Food & Nutrition Logs — The meals, foods, and descriptions you enter into the app, along with the macro and calorie estimates generated by our AI.
• Usage Data — How you interact with the app, including which features you use, streaks, and activity timestamps. This helps us improve the product.
• Group & Social Data — Information related to any groups you join or create, including group membership and leaderboard activity.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the data we collect for the following purposes:

• Core Features — To power AI food logging, macro tracking, and coaching nudges.
• Personalization — To tailor your experience based on your goals, habits, and preferences.
• Teams & Groups — To run leaderboards, streaks, and accountability systems.
• Product Improvement — We analyze usage patterns to make Cerial better over time.
• Communication — To reach you about your account or important updates to the app.

We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell your information to third parties.

4. AI & Data Processing

Cerial uses AI to estimate the nutritional content of meals you describe. When you log food, your input may be processed by an AI model to generate calorie and macro estimates. This processing is used solely to provide you with nutritional information within the app.

We do not use your food logs or personal data to train AI models for external purposes.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Firestore). We apply security best practices including authentication controls and encrypted data transmission to protect your information.

While we take security seriously, no system is 100% immune to risk. We recommend using a strong, unique password for your Cerial account.

6. Sharing of Information

We do not share your personal information with third parties except in the following limited cases:

• Service Providers — We use Google Firebase to store and manage data. Their privacy practices are governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
• Legal Requirements — We may share information if required by law or to protect the safety of users or others.
• Within Groups — If you join a group, other members may see your display name and leaderboard activity. We do not share detailed nutrition data with other group members unless you choose to.

7. Your Rights & Choices

You have the following rights regarding your data:

• Access — You can view the data associated with your account within the app.
• Deletion — You can request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us.
• Opt Out — You can stop using Cerial at any time. You may also delete the app from your device.

8. Children's Privacy

Cerial is designed for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
